Title: Joker stole the movie. That is all.

Blog Entry: Monday, July 21, 2008 Current mood: pirate So like every other shittard out there I went and saw the Batman movie this weekend, or more correctly, I saw the Joker's movie that also had Batman and some other people in it. It now owns the box office sales records in the range of $155+ million dollars, not that I have ever (EVER) placed any credence in people shelling out money and a movie being good/watchable. Heath Ledger absolutely stole this movie. He was scary, when he needed to be; he was controlled chaos in a 'retard-strength' kind of way, when fighting; pathetic in a sad clown kind of way, when he needed to be; and, just plain crazy when not any of the above modes. The only thing I would have wished more of, was the whole Chinese Connection/Mob thing. That could easily been 20-25 more minutes. Unfortunately, the movie was long already so something had to give. Does the movie live up to the hype? Was it the best superhero/comic book/illustrated novel movie? How did that piece of crap called Spiderman 3 make over $150 million dollars when it came out?   Modern movie hype pretty much escalated to a new level with the original Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson Batman. That move at the time was awesome. I remember people talking shit as they were leaving the theater saying they thought it was 'too dark'. Hey assholes, if you ever read any of the Batman comics, they were really dark. Did they expect the Adam West & Cesar Romero Batman and Joker? WTF, you pussies!     Dark Knight was even better. As of right now, it is the best one of the genre (Sorry, not a word I like to throw out but it's actually appropriate here). The theater was actually packed and there were something like 12 showings and when I asked the ticket taker, he said all so far had been packed like that. And, the most shocking thing was that people actually clapped at the end. A few did clap at the end of IronMan but not like this -- almost a 'standing ovation' kind of clapping. I was certainly impressed with that. The popcorn was even good. Almost worth the $5 I paid for it. The candy I smuggled in was also very good. Nice job Java Twix. Nice blend of chocolate, caramel, coffee and cookie. Nicely done! I stayed away from the gallon-size soda, for fear of having to pee halfway through the movie. Lastly, I want to send out a big FUCK YOU to the asshole in front of me buying tickets and his asshole friend. Yeah, the theater charges two dollars more for 3-D movies. That's their policy. Get over it. Cheap motherfucker. And to his friend, you just heard the person give the whole spiel. Why make him do it all over again, other than to make me miss the first three minutes of my movie, asshat?! Aside from talking during a movie, this is exactly why people get shot at the movies. I hope that you sat in gum and pissed your pants from the 3-D scariness. ASSHOLES. Harden the fuck up.   =_=   Currently listening : The Best of the Gap Band By The Gap Band Release date: 1994-06-07
